Who is Gurunath Meiyappan ?

                             

Even before he married Srinivasan's daughter Rupa about 10 years ago,

Gurunath was well known as the son of AVM Balasubramanian and grandson of AV Meiyappan,

the founder of AVM Productions :

arguably the oldest TV and film production house in south India....

He was arrested when the issue first came out and Mumbai police claims there is a watertight case against him. I think he's on bail right now.

On May 24, Gurunath Meiyappan, a top official of Chennai Super Kings franchise and son-in-law

of the BCCI president N Srinivasan, was arrested in Mumbai on charges of cheating, forgery

and fraud following which he was suspended by the BCCI.

Gurunath is chargesheeted by Mumbai Police under sections of the Indian Penal Code

that deal with cheating and fraud, and section 130 of Bombay Police Act,

which concerns cheating at games.

Yeah. The situation is so bad that people will go for an honest communal leader who obviously hates muslims. Also, his honesty has always been under doubt, he favors big corporations too much. Although it can be said, he doesn't do it for personal gain but that's still not honest behavior.
