THE Rose Hall Tigers Cricket Club, the newest addition to the Berbice Cricketing fraternity, has announced that it is ready, willing, and able to participate in cricketing competitions at all levels in the county.
This was the message delivered by the Club’s Executive Member, Carl Wilson, at the Club’s recently held Executive Meeting in Rose Hall Town.
Born out of the necessity to keep youths engaged in positive habits, the Rose Hall Tigers Club will be embarking on an aggressive campaign to encourage youths to develop their skills in cricket, while engaging them in approved cricket competitions at all levels.
The Club’s Executive membership comprises Carl Wilson- President, Devindra Persaud-Secretary, Lomenzo Johnny-Treasurer, Delbert Hicks- Coach and Khemraj Mahadeo and Michael Hicks will serve as Committee Members.
Former Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Senior Players Delbert Hicks, Khemraj Mahadeo, Michael Hicks and Troy Matheson, have already joined the Rose Hall Tigers Cricket Club and are currently recruiting youths and other players from Rose Hall and the surrounding areas to be a part of their rising cricket Club.
Player/ Coach Delbert Hicks, in an invited comment, revealed that heintends to take the Club fast forward. He indicated that initially his emphasis will be on physical fitness and other cricketing drills, that will push-start the new recruits in their careers.
The Executives are optimistic that with experienced players such as Delbert Hicks and Mahadeo, the Club is equipped to challenge the best and win tournaments in the county. The Club has indicated that it will participate in the BCB’s Second Division 40- overs Competition, slated to commence soon.
