He is only 17, but young Tage Chanderpaul is already displaying some of the traits his father, the great man, has shown the cricket world the past 2 decades.
We all know the Shiv Chanderpaul success formula:
PRACTICE + MORE PRACTICE + FOCUS + CONCENTRATION + SIMPLICITY = SHIV BATTING SUCCESS
* No cricketer in the world practices more diligently than Shiv---he owns a bowling machine in Florida and in Guyana.
* Shiv's focus and concentration are legendary
* And Shiv's simplicity is there for all to see---he looks ordinary---there is no style or flash---just productive batting.

* He seems diligent
* He seems disciplined
Tage will fail in a lot of his innings---we saw him fail in 2 innings against Barbados---but those failures will contribute to his learning curve---failure is always good once you can learn a lesson from it----hopefully in 5 years Tage be a star.

Saw him for the very first time today for only a brief period ..............
Is this his natural demeanour in playing? Cos he seemed so anxious and stressed or was it because of the way the game panned out??!!!
Walking away from the crease after a shot, his mannerisms such as always adjusting his helmet, clutching at his shirt collar, pulling at the front of his shirt as if it was uncomfortable, adjusting his box etc. ....
Seem very stressed and NOT at all confident to me the way you folks are playing it out ......... :-\
Mind you ... he's only a Lil Cub ..BUT you go Lil Tiger !!!

I haven't seen Tage bat fellas - is he aesthetically pleasing, technique-wise? Or is it similar to Shiv? Either way I hope he fulfills his potential, if he can get anywhere near Shiv, it'd be awesome. Personally I hope he's less of an eyesore than Shiv though, as much as I admire Shiv.

They should have let him play more U-19 cricket before getting him into the senior squad. He's a good prospect though.

Now that he's in the senior squad ... can he still play on the U-19 team ? ::confused::
