Have we passed the point of no return re the relevance of international cricket? Is it inevitable the global game will shrink to a minor sideshow, played by fewer and few counties? I don’t know the answers. I get the business/economic arguments. But I worry, esp. for associates.

When the 15-man squad gets announced for World Cup Qualifiers I give it 10 seconds before the inevitable cuss out about Evin Lewis/Shimron Hetmyer not being included starts
Despite neither having played an ODI for West Indies in nearly 2 years

Johnny Grave has said on local radio tonight that CWI are currently reviewing a three year plan for regional cricket between 2024-2026, with ideas of including WI Academy in the regional season and also having home+away matches return for teams

Desmond Haynes, the West Indies men's lead selector, has confirmed that Shimron Hetmyer did make himself available for the 2023 ODI World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe, but has not been picked.
He said that the team management wanted to stick with a unit similar to the one that did well in the limited-overs series in South Africa earlier this year.
Hetmyer's name was absent from the World Cup qualifier squad as well as the three-match ODI series against UAE in Sharjah. Haynes felt it was "fair to stick with the guys" who had done well in South Africa, where West Indies drew the ODI series 1-1 and took the T20I series 2-1.

Desmond Haynes revealed earlier this week that if West Indies make it to the final of the World Cup Qualifiers (and therefore qualify for WC), then the red-ball players in the ODI side will fly home early in order to make the India Test starting a few days later

One thing I dont understand about the gentleman's club stewardship of the game.
When they end up marginalising all cricket nations bar the top 3 & the select few they invite.
How do they envisage maintaining interest in the long term?
How long can the T20 league bubble last?

Strange that the India tour dates have still not been announced, we have been directly contacted by fans from USA looking to go to the Caribbean, asking for dates/locations
Seems like a big tour is not being capitalised on from a marketing/ticket sales point of view
