GCB congratulates Motie

GCB extends congratulation to Gudakesh Motie on his maiden five wicket haul in Test cricket. Motie had career best figures of 7-37 against Zimbabwe in the second Test of the West Indies vs Zimbabwe series being played in Zimbabwe. His efforts has helped WI dismiss Zimbabwe for 115 on the first day.

Before the Zimbabwe series I mentioned their batsmen can't Play the ball spinning away from them. I was Right .

Congratulations to Gudakesh Motie on his 13 wickets haul for 99 runs and for being the man of the match and series. He makes all Guyanese proud. He continues the tradition of great spin bowlers from GUyana and from Albion from Shivnarine to Chinsammy, Bishoo, Permaul and Motie. From their humble family setting, they have achieved so much and set examples for others. Guda now stands as the spinner with the best bowling figures ever for a West Indies spinner. Better than the greatest such as Sonny Ramadin, Alf Valentine and Lance Gibbs. Just as our children from poor families and from rural areas are ranked at the top of CXC in CARICOM so too our cricketers like Guda and Tage. I urge our government to employ past cricketers as coaches and assign them full time to our cricket clubs. The time is now Minister Ramson
