Omar Phillips, the former Barbados and West Indies batter, has been called up as an emergency fielder for the upcoming second Test match against Australia at the Adelaide Oval.
Philips is presently playing club cricket in Australia and will join the squad on Thursday.

To confirm, the only time between now and 2027 that West Indies play a 3-Test series is one series away vs England in July 2024
Everything else is 2 Test and lacking narrative as a result.
You lose the 1st Test and the series is over, you can't win it

What is the point of the ICC though?
No promotion/relegation
No real desire to grow the game
Claiming T20 leagues are an issue but doing nothing to actually address the issue
Decimated their own 'purest' form to two test series for everyone except their favs

Our regional season usually concludes in May/June, so after the India series in July, that's the last red-ball cricket our players will see for 2023
We will then have to tour Australia in January 2024 for Tests and try to compete against this backdrop
