Really surprised to see Roach running through this English team. Glad to see he's still menacing in good conditions.
I feel bad for Hetmeyer. This was the second time he was denied a ton over the past 12 months because a lack of batting partners forced him to rush. He looks like a quality batsman, and I love his confidence.
Oh, and happy New Year to Chairman, Maps and Ketchim.

He looks to have supreme confidence, and with his natural skill..very good combination!!

Here's a hypothesis. The way to beat this English side is by playing them on very quick pitches if you have genuinely quick bowlers. Because, unlike in the days of Harmison and co. England currently don't have genuine pace in their line up.

I think all cricket lovers should enjoy seeing the Windies play well. Forget about England and hope that this is the making of a decent West Indies side. Test cricket misses days like this.

Happy New Year to you and yours TD : Auld Lang Syne !
Roach at home pitch can be quite a handful !
let's hope no stress fractures for 2nd innngs : cause we played a 4 prong attack !
On Hetty, thought Dowrich and Holder would have seen him to the test TON
but alas , Bajan sabotage a la the green bench at airport knows no 'boundaries'

there is a tactic in horse racing called horse for course and distance.
if a horse comes to a racetrack he always does well at, wins at..better yet if that is the only track he has won on.. and he has a bit of form... pencil him in
sometimes he has no observable good form at all... but just being at that track can be enough to get his juices flowing.
and this horse for course/distance is a factor especially when the horse is getting old. he gets the old juices flowing at his old hunting grounds where he first caught the rabbit.
Roach fits. lets see if he does well in the other tests on different pitches. if he does not then its Bim, Kensington that got him going..and elsewhere he returns to his current tact of experienced, aging back-up fast bowler..I mean medium pacer
