Shikhar Dhawan scored a century in a session for the second time in his career, rekindling memories of his blazing 187 on debut while laying waste to a toothless Sri Lanka attack. Having surpassed that score, he fell three minutes from tea, spooning Nuwan Pradeep to mid-off 10 short of a maiden double-hundred.
Between lunch and his dismissal, Dhawan scored 126 off 90 balls, breaking Polly Umrigar's India record of 110 in the post-lunch session, made during his innings of 172* in Port-of-Spain in April 1962. Virender Sehwag, who scored 133 in the post-tea session against Sri Lanka at the Brabourne Stadium in 2009, is the only Indian batsman to score more runs in a session.

Pujara has 3 double centuries already, and is likely to get another one here. He averages over 50 in tests, but India seem to only pick him for games played in the subcontinent. Do they have so little trust in his abilities to bat outside of Asia?

Just checked out the score, and I am really surprised with the score. Sri lanka already lose three wickets. Its look like one sided match so far. I don't think from this they can come back, but who knows.

Zimbabwe captain made 150 against this very attack couple weeks ago.
even some guy named Sikandar made 127..
what happened to Kohli ?
short pitch bowling is really exposing him !

True. Now he is out of form since very long time. Every player has his own golden time during his career. I hope its not ending golden time for him. He still long way to go.

So far the faster bowlers seems to be doing good in Lankan grounds. I am guessing this could be because of the spinners being familiar in the lankan side. So I don't think this test will bring that many wickets to them. But yeah still I am looking forward to kuldeep yadav's performance. It'd be surely good to see how that turns out. Lot of good game from them so far.

India 600 and 189 for 3 (Abhinav 81, Kohli 76*) lead by 498 runs
Sri Lanka 291 (Perera 92*, Mathews 83, Jadeja 3-67, Shami 2-45)
India declined to enforce the follow-on
after securing a 309-run first-innings lead, ostensibly to give
Virat Kohli some batting practice against a Limp Lanka ::LOL::

Okay, maybe Joe Root will bat again !
Lets see IF he will enforce follow on with South Africa...

I wonder why they didn't go for follow on. India is already having good runs on the board. Even now they have to get 10 wickets to win the match, so why not early!? This was strange decision for sure.

2 wickets fallen so far from sri lanka side. But they are playing it like one day match. So I am guessing they definitely have chances of winning. If Indian bowlers restrict them today then it'd be good. Otherwise I think it'd be harder for India to win this test. The batting from sri lanka is good enough to chase this target. I don't know why india didn't set 600 runs target.
