England captain Alastair Cook on team's performance: "
We played some good cricket. It was a good toss to win but you still have to score the runs. In India if you get 530 like we did then you're always in the game. I am really proud of the lads, we were relentless with the ball and we didn't let India score quickly. To keep them to 480, I thought we played really well.

There was only two chances of a result, us to win or them to draw and that can do funny things on a fifth day wicket and I was pleased with how we bowled, but in the end they did enough."

Shame Haseeb did not get his ton.
I am now feeling better about stability at the top. He batted beautifully yesterday to be 60+ overnight. Have not seen the highlights today but look forward to seeing it.
Well done England.

I was really hoping he could put the finishing touches on a brilliant innings and get that maiden century. He deserved it for how well he batted on day 4. He didn't look quite as fluent or as comfortable today. He got bogged down a little and eventually gave his wicket away as he and Cook looked to speed up the scoring to accelerate the declaration. Still, there was an awful lot to be impressed by. I am very excited for his future.
I thought England played really well on all 5 days of this Test and were the better side. Given the struggles in Bangladesh (admittedly aided by some very touch pitches to bat on), most of the media seemed to have wrote England off, but they showed tremendous fight, determination and application throughout this Test. Yes, winning the toss helped, but they still needed to go out and put the runs on the board.
England scalping the 10 wickets needed for victory inside 50 overs was always going to be a real long shot, but they did give India a bit of a scare. One thing I doubt any one counted on was England's spinners outbowling India's in this match. But that they did.

Dilly,
One cannot understate the positive impact of a good start. I agree we payed very well on all 5 days.
We also did well to get the them 6 wickets down. Best I have seen Adil bowl.
A message has been sent to the Indians but not sure I am happy with the toss being so pivotal.
Quick turnaround so cannot wait.
