the west indies cricket bureaucracy strikes again.
Benn shud not be in the team ahead of Bishoo/Permaul...that's for sure. I don't know about Guyana batsmen before those selected but I cant see much difficulty in replacing Fletcher/Charles.
those 2 guys have been around for years. they are both barely first class. if we cant do better maybe those 2. but if we have any batsmen better to any extent...or with the potential to be better... I cant see the faintest reason why those 2 would not be dropped.
this team is a bureaucratic team, not a team practically selected. those directly involved with the players shud select the team, not the bureau. the captain and the coach should pick the team.
the wicb selection committee is not like the old selection committees used to be..very close to the cricket, an unpaid, popular and ordinary
now the selection committee is like an extension of the direct executive, a paid group of functionaries who are officials, not unpaid ordinary folk who gave of their time freely to the development of west indies cricket.
the social ambient then was one of nationalist service and commitment. the current selection committee is paid, bureaucratic and beholden to the wicb executive, their paymaster...not to the west indian nation. hence we get selections that the wicb see in their interest, not a selection representative of the current interest of the west indian nation
in the cricket, the interest of the wicb bureaucracy has superceded the interest of the west indian nation. Skameron now serves the interest of the west indian bureaucracy of which he has been a major developer, in league with the ICC international cricket bureau..which is developing a powerful international controller of cricket, outside the power of any national government.
that is why the west indian governments cannot move as they like on the wicb, why skameron acts like he is a power unto himself.
he does so because he is in league with the ICC which already has the power to limit or stop the west indian governments from dealing with the west indian cricket crisis, which is caused directly by the ICC through the wicb by is international power grab.
it is a power grab that is the same as that carried out in athletics by the IOC and FIFA both of which already dictate to governments, not the other way around.
what is happening in the world is the construction of bureaucracies that are executive, that initiate national/global policy that affects the world but who are unelected, appointed from within their ranks, and totally outside the control of any national governments.
these same bureaucracies do into allow representatives sent to them by the nations, representatives to have a say in policy making. the bureaucracies alone do that. it is totally undemocratic and represent only the interest of the bureaucratic power.
the most streamlined example of this development of this new global bureaucratic control mechanism is the European Union structure that now strangles Europe.
that is why the dog Scameron behaves as if he is god himself because he knows what he is part of, what they are facilitating in the world, the extent of its power and that he is the integral west indian part of it. he knows they are bigger than any regional government/governments collectively... and that they can hardly do anything to him unless they wish to risk their own political careers..possibly even their own lives
that is what we are dealing with here..a particularly nasty aspect of globalization. Incidentally that is the only way to account for the presence and role of the Pie Mobile in the west indies. he can best be read as the ICC viceroy in the west indies shepparding the extension of the ICC. Skameron was prolly made to make room for pie bus, to hire him to do the job he now does..making the west indie safe for the ICC..a sort of pacification of the cricket region for globalization.
Allyuh tink it sorf!
