Probably a couple of jumping jacks would have sufficed back then. The amount of training and pre-match routines and stretching has increased infinitely in recent years.
Players even have their own personal chefs and teams mandate what foods they are to be served while on tour. The micromanagement is incredible.

Americans know better than wasting their time playing a silly game where grown men run around in
silky shorts and girly knee socks. ::yawn:: ::yawn::

That must have been a rough play to end up injured like that. Hope He gets better soon, his perfomance is really quite entertaining to behold in the field.

Edwards will be replaced by Irish seamer Craig Young, who has joined Hampshire on a short-term loan deal. Desperate times for Hampshire. Already one of the favourites for relegation, they will now be without Edwards, Topley, Berg and Stevenson for the imminent future. Tomlinson, McLaren and Wood are the only other recognised seamers fit enough for selection against Middlesex. If James Vince is selected for England this summer, they are going to have a really hard time staying up. Still, after the miracle of last year, this team has a fantastic fighting spirit.

Hampshire have been absolutely decimated with injuries to commence the season. Reece Topley has broke his hand, Sean Ervine his finger, Liam Dawson has strained his abdominal, Chris Wood picked up an injury in the first innings and both Gareth Berg and ryan Stephenson are out to commence the season. They are getting incredibly thin on bowlers. They may have to commence plucking players out of the stands if this perpetuates. It does make their draws against Warwickshire and Yorkshire that much more impressive.

While I agree with you about the risk being minimal, I'd still prefer to see the players warn up in a slightly less robust way shall we say. When you go to a football match, the players come out and warm up but in a way that isn't going to get the players injured, so surely that would be a better way to do it in cricket aswell?

I'm also aware of what this user is doing, and for whatever reason they're doing it, its starting to wind me up aswell. If they don't have anything to say, then what's the point in just copying a post into a thesaurus, and then pasting it back on to the same thread, as this appears pretty much like they're doing.
