Darren Sammy: Don't worry, we're going *

West Indies Twenty20 skipper Darren Sammy
West Indies Twenty20 skipper Darren Sammy has assured the Caribbean public that the team set to represent the region in the ICC World T20 will not boycott the tournament and will sign and return their tournament contracts to the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) before Sunday's deadline.
Sammy said that while the players were unhappy with the remuneration offered by the WICB for participating in the tournament, which starts from March 8 in India, he said they never intended to decline the contracts.
“I would like to let it be known that we did not at any point in time think about not going to the World Cup. We made it clear that we all were going to play in the World Cup,†Sammy said yesterday during an interview on radio station I95.5 FM.

Thanks, Sammy. This is refreshing news. Another fiasco like the last situation in India would surely put a serious dent in the sustainability of West Indies Cricket, which is already limping like a wounded animal at the moment. I am eagerly waiting, however, to hear what has caused the disgruntled team members to take this about turn.

steuppps. Sammy making it sound like he had a choice!! hahahahahahahaha!!
WICB got them by the balls! If they refused that would have been the last time their names will ever be associated with West Indian cricket!

Its NOT their Union : they have private "agents"
However the Collective Bargaining Agreement is with the Players association and the Board.
These mercenaries missed the bus ....

That is correct, Ketch.
Now is the time for them to negotiate that their agents be able to legally represent them and be included in the CBA!
but, in typical WI fashion nothing will get done

Of course the board would not want to do that. So these clowns need to join WIPA and vote Blinds out! Bring back someone who will do justice to the job of being WIPA's president!
Being in a position of no negotiation and voice does them no good...unless they just want to keep on whinning!
