Great stuff from Razzaq. He was fired up. Gutsy call from Colly to throw him the ball for the last over. He kept his cool and the Commanders hold on.

Zafar Shah, the head of the MCL, acknowledged that the ICC was in touch, and said the league :
was not forcing players to retire
.
"This is the perfect time for players who have never announced their retirement to do it now,"
"It's a teething issue because clarity is not there between players and their boards. It has never been done before.
We are now setting this platform. Everybody will understand what to do from now."

"I was given a No Objection Certificate by WICB with a clause in it that I retire on the 23rd," Chanderpaul told ESPNcricinfo.
"If I didn't announce my retirement they would have taken it back.
"I have spoken to Guyana already. I know the chairman wants me to go back and play "

In one of the shocking confessions in West Indies cricket, the just retired
West Indies
veteran
Shivnarine Chanderpaul
has confessed that he did not quit the game on his own terms, but was forced to retire by the parent board of the nation, the
West Indies Cricket Board
(WICB). However, he also insisted that he has not retired from domestic cricket and would continue to offer his valuable services to Guyana and also aim to resume play for the club in ajust a couple of weeks. The confession also rpovides an insight of the ongoing tussle between the WICB and the West Indies players, as Chanderpaul retired with the aim to obtain the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the WICB in order to play the ongging Masters Champions League (MCL) in the UAE.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

Players retiring at this age is bound to cause sone raised eyebrows to be honest and I can see why. Not being picked isn't an excuse to retire, it should be an excuse to try even harder to make sure you are picked in future, but...that's in an ideal world and the case in most other sports.
Cricket unfortunately is entirely different and your selection seems to go off how well you tie the line, rather than your ability to play the game.
