You have to feel a little sorry for Kohli and Dhawan. Their 212-run partnership will be overlooked and forgotten in all of this.
I was curious to see which team holds the record for most runs scored in a 5-match ODI series. The current record, which was set last year, is 1617 runs scored by England against New Zealand.
In the four matches so far, Australia have scored 1263 runs. So, Australia need 355 runs to break the record, and I wouldn't bet against them on this form. New Zealand scored 1534 in that series also - the most runs scored in a losing effort. India have a chance to beat that record also. They have scored 1235 runs so far. There is a very real possibility that India will score 1500 runs in this series and get swept, 5-0!
