du Plessis, who had been exceedingly cautious, finally plays an aggressive shot and picks out Alex Hales on the square leg boundary. Finn with a deserved second wicket. Another inspired bowling change from Cook. South Africa 185/5.

1:
Number of England wicketkeepers to dismiss
the first four batsmen in an innings
before Jonny Bairstow in this match.
Jack Russell is the only other player to have done it earlier:
he dismissed Australia's top five batsmen at the
MCG
in 1990-91.

This partnership between Morris and Rabada (now at 53) has gone past the stage of annoying to a potential match changer. I am surprised that Cook has opened the bowling this morning with Anderson and Broad - they were England's two weakest bowlers yesterday. They need to wrap this up quickly. For me, I would have given the ball to Finn. He has been England's best (and most consistent) bowler this series.

Finally, Broad pitches one up nice and full and Morris nicks off to Bairstow. That was the first ball England have pitched up this morning, and not surprisingly, it gets an edge. South Africa 281/8. England needed that.

Rabada out three balls later. Jimmy gets in the wickets. Another catch behind the stumps for Bairstow, that's six for him in this innings. South Africa 281/9.

300 up for South Africa. Despite picking up two wickets this morning, Board and Anderson have still bowled too short for me. It's no coincidence that the first time Broad pitched the ball up, he takes a wicket. Cook needs to get Broad off now. His bowling is too short and wayward, and getting punished. 14 off that over. Absolute trash from Broad. Come on Cooky, wake up.

Oh Jonny. Another dropped catch. He is making a habit of this.
What's going on now? Has Anderson been taken out of the attack for running onto the pitch twice? It sure looks like Aleem Dar has given him the heave ho. And he has.
Oh, it's all going on. Stokes is brought on to finish the over and he immediately gets a wicket with his first delivery. Take note Broad and Anderson, Stokesy pitched it up and found the edge.
South Africa all out for 313.

Hales goes for 1. A very loose shot. He did not look good at the crease. He offered very little foot movement in his brief stay and got turned around on more than one occasion. He has some work to do if he is to make it as an opener at the Test level - both in footwork and shot selection. That said, this is a really good wicket to bowl on. England 10/1.
