Timmyj Plan (150 total overs per team, per match) the only way for Jurassic to escape extinction.

I think Test cricket is the best sport in the world and it must never be changed. The one thing that can be done to elevate the interest of the fans is to include every test played in a test championship and conclude the year with a test match titled as the final between the two teams with most points.

Great question and poll answers too. All of the answers have their own merit. My own personal choice would be a Test World Cup. Teams play home and away three-match series throughout the year with the two best teams playing in a year end, best of three series beginning Boxing Day. The team with the most points gets home-field advantage for the finals.

And how about this. The 3 teams that win most test championships in a 5 year period are appointed as "The big three" at ICC for the next 5 years. So winning on regular basis basically gets translated into having more power at ICC. That would surely spice things up.

I'm not sure if the question is WHAT can be done to save test cricket or the question is can test cricket be saved at all.
For me test cricket still as a big part to play in the game but I think there may come a time when it disappears altogether. While for a lot of people they'll think that's a good thing, but as the saying goes, you don't know what you've got till it's gone and should it disappear I think it will be missed.

I think Test cricket must be saved, because the day when test cricket dies will be the day cricket dies for me. I love this game too much and It would be sad day if I see it perishing.

Without Timmyj Plan Jurassic surely die, :'( and then "there shall be a new rebirth, dedicated to the
proposition that all cricket games shall be exciting, for the fans, by the fans, and of the fans." :-*
