All the evidence points to a very incompetent WICB flaunting their own rules, contradicting themselves, misinterpreting important documents, getting the terms of reference, pertinent modus operandi and legislation wrong and being all round twits.

The WICB is guilty of self-inflicted wounds. In 2014 the Windies withdrew from a tour of India to protest lower salaries. Coaches routinely disagree with the WICB over the selection of players. And its Byzantine structure has made even simple tasks, like scheduling matches, difficult.

how to say this then ::confused::
the wicb is aware of all it breaks...principles, morals. ethical frameworks. if what they were are really about was consistent with those principles and morals etc.,., they would not break them.
what have the demonstrated they care about....money and power, relative power, the cricket power. and to that effect they have sowed up the cricket power comprehensively..even taking over WIPA. skameran an' dem do not compromise in there.
they not stupid. they like the empire. for generations the rules were sacred. today the empire plays no rules like they used to which demonstrates the rules were tools working towards and end..their real goal that has nothing to do with the rules on the surface. so they break these rules today in your face, all the time now, anywhere.
that is how it goes with exploitation. all that is important is the exploitation and the proceeds from it. the rules are broken, changed on the head of spin instantaneously in necessary to facilitate the continuation of exploitation..which is the purpose of it all
no matter how it looks to the contrary all the wicb does is intended to cement control and develop their exploitation of west indies cricket...period

How many of the present players on this West Indies team can make the 15-man squad of any of the top Test-playing teams in the world, let alone their starting 11?

None of the 6 Bajans on the Roster.
Ask your SELECTORS why they are so racist and insular.

The central problem with West Indies cricket is not so much the shennanigans of its cricket administrators but the simple fact that youngsters are now increasingly taking to basketball. Cricket is fast losing popularity among the young and there is very little the cricket administrators can do about this as the money in basketball is more than that in cricket.

The move to a fully independent board is the best way forward. Someone, somehow, needs to show the West Indies how. That person is unlikely to come from the ICC given that independent boards is a direct challenge to the Big 3 governance model.

There can be no turning back now in the efforts to halt the rot and revive the fortunes of the West Indies. The Caricom heads must now proceed to transform the management framework for the game and hopefully those who are now on the WICB can play a positive role in this process.
