It's an excellent news for cricket lovers. Why cannot Pakistan/India have series similar to the Ashes - play one year in Pakistan and next year in India. Both countries can generate more revenue beside getting best of the best for their teams - the ones who can deal with pressure of arch rival and home crowd. Hope to see some real good matches.

The ashes does seem to dominate the international cricket calender and I think if your a cricket from any nation it seems to be a series that you look forward to.
For international cricket to grow, I DO think there needs to be more than this, and as for a India VS Pakistan series then why not? Also other nations could do the same aswell maybe?
I think anything that gets people interested in cricket will be a good thing.

Ashes are an all Christian match up
Sri Lanka team are all Buddhist and do not have the support of the Hindu tamils...
Hindu India don't help their brother Tamils and only want Muslim fast bowlers
West Indies only want Black fast bowlers and Indian wristy batsmen and spinners !
Pakistan players are targeted for being poor and tempted with "easy" money via match fixing..
A better series may be a Pak -Kiwi match up : hopefully New Zealand spring lamb will be Halal

I'd like some kind of yearly "Test Cup" competition involving all the teams, though the logistics of organising this would be very difficult.

I think it would be great to see the revival of the Pakistan and India series. It would be great for cricket and might even help to ease the political tension between the two countries.
I watched part of the recent All Stars game held in the US and noticed how well the Indian and Pakistani players get along.

This has long been a dream of mine. While the logistics would be difficult, I think having a Test Cup once every 4 years, would possible. In my dream scenario, teams get to play home and away legs, thereby somewhat nullifying home-field advantage which has become increasingly evident in recent years. Teams play 3 Tests at home, then face the same opposition for 3 Test matches at their home venue. It could be played throughout the year, culminating with a Boxing Day final.

It would appear that the ICC scrapped the notion of a Test Championship as it "proved impossible to come up with a format for a four-team finals event in Test cricket that fits the culture of Test cricket and preserves the integrity of the format."
www.thatscricket.com/news/2014/02/08/tes...rns-2017-070730.html
Based on those comments, it would appear that the ICC were planning for this tournament to take place in a short period of time, in England, as opposed to throughout the year and feature just 4 teams.
