“Zimbabwe has always been a competitive side to play against, especially when they are at home,†Waqar was quoted as saying by The Herald as Pakistan touched down in the country.
“We saw that when they came to Pakistan a few months ago and though they did not win a game they were always very good,†the former captain said of Zimbabwe's recent tour of Pakistan, the first by a Test-playing nation since the 2009 terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team.
Waqar said Zimbabwe's biggest strength was their depth.
“There is no one player I can single out as a threat to Pakistan because they are all good, they play as a unit.â€

Follow the basics and win odi game, that is bat all 50 overs and score more than 250 or if opponent batting first keep them under 250 runs.

It is mystery to many Pakistani cricket fans, why Sarfraz Ahmad is not part of T20 squad.

Waqar trying to temper expectations in case Pakistan somehow lose to Zimbabwe? I am not sure how Waqar thinks Zimbabwe pose a real threat. Over the last 2 years in ODIs, Zimbabwe have won just 5 matches and lost 25. Of those 5 wins, only 2 were against the top 8 teams in the world - New Zealand and Australia.
Over that same period in T20s, they have just 1 win against a top 8 team - India.

I think Pakistan should be more concerned about Bangladesh at this stage because they seem to be surpassing them and the likes of West Indies and Zimbabwe.

That was quite an inexperienced side that Pakistan put out too with the likes of Imran Khan, Mohammad Rizwan, Mukhtar Ahmed and Imad Wasim all having very little T20 experience. Fun little side fact that I wasn't aware of until today, Imad Wasim was born in Wales. I have to imagine he is the first cricketer born in Wales to represent Pakistan in any international match.
