Hazlewood's middle stump goes cartwheeling out of the ground courtesy of a Wood yorker. Australia 243/9. England on the verge of regaining the Ashes. Come on England.

It might have even taken a better batsman's stump..Just the perfect yorker every bowler would love to bowl.
Just as i am typing this Voges gets to his 50.Good application shown so far,but in vain.

Wood gets Lyon and England have won by an innings and 78 runs and regained the Ashes. Well done England. Marvelous. I am so proud of every one of the boys. Many predicted a 5-0 whitewash and yet here they are, standing tall. Congrats must go to Cook who has endured a tough year. There were questions about whether his captaincy would come to an end at the end of this series and here he stands leading England against all odds to a thrashing of the mighty Australia.

I wonder if England will keep Lyth. Lyth and arguably Bairstow and Bell are the only weak links on this team. They have all other bases well covered.

Lyth is a worry. I am not sure he is technically good enough, although I imagine he will get the tour of UAE to see whether he is the answer. Chopping and changing doesn't do anyone any good and he has been far and away the best opener on the county circuit the last two years, although we all know there is a huge difference between county cricket and Test cricket.
One thing working in his favour is there aren't too many alternatives. Hales would be the most likely replacement. Nick Compton might get a second look.

To be honest,The current Aussies team doesn't even match up 25% to the team a decade ago. They just don't seem have a clue against the swing bowling.
A good replacement at top can be Khawaja , he averages nearly 50 in domestic one day cricket and has been the best domestic one day batsman in the last 2 years.
