The entire morning's play has been washed out due to rain. Odds of a draw are getting higher by the minute.
Dale Steyn needs one more wicket to join the elusive 400 wicket club. If he can get one more wicket in this match, he would become the second fastest player to achieve this feat. Murali leads the way at 72 Test matches, Sir. Richard Hadlee is currently in second place at 80 Test matches.

Full day's play washed out. Not much chance of a result now unless the SA batting goes horribly wrong in the morning. Maybe it would be best if tomorrow is washed out too. 100% chance of rain in the forecast, so that seems likely. Not sure I should bother to get up early.

I would say SA might have saved themselves the humiliation of a defeat. Thanks to the rain.
This surely will be a draw and i don't expect them to crumble within 150-200 and with more rain being forecast it only ascertains the case for a draw.

I hope you didn't bother getting up early, Gina. The final days play was abandoned without a ball being bowled. A shame as this Test was delicately poised.

Thanks dillinger10. I set the cricket to record just in case, but I was pretty sure it was going to end this way. I'm really disappointed by the end though because I still felt we had a chance of winning at the end of day 3. But even one lost day was probably too much to allow a result anyway.
I'm not so sure of that. The game was pretty level and Bangladesh would have had to bat last. An SA win was still a possibility if the game had been completed.

SA would have sighed a heave of relief..Thanks to the rain gods.Banglas were prodding ahead and we all know it

A tame draw..didn't evoke much interest after rain lashed across.

I'm with Gina on this. South Africa had not only clawed their way back into the match, but by WPA (win probability added), they were actually favourites to win (although a draw was the most likely of the three outcomes). At the end of day 3, the scores were effectively level and you can't underestimate batting 4th in Test match cricket.
Teams batting 4th at Chittagong have lost 4, won 2 and drawn 4. The two successful 4th innings run chases here were 163 by Sri Lanka in 2006 and 317 by New Zealand in 2008. Teams have scored 275+ in just 3 of the 10 4th innings and the average 4th innings score is 218.
