News Americas, LONDON, England, Weds. Mar. 25, 2015: England is likely to beat the ‘mediocre’ West Indies cricket squad says incoming England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) chairman Colin Graves.
Graves’ comment come as the two sides are set to clash in a three-Test series in the Caribbean beginning on April 13th in Antigua.
“I’d certainly be disappointed if we don’t win the West Indies series, because I am pretty sure the West Indies are going to have a mediocre team,†Graves told BBC Radio Leeds. “A lot of their stars are going to be playing in the Indian Premier League anyway, not in the Tests, so we should win that series. If we don’t win, I can tell you now there will be some enquiries of why we haven’t.â€
England’s Caribbean schedule
6-7 April: Tour match v St Kitts and Nevis, Basseterre
21-25 April: 2nd Test v West Indies, Grenada
8-9 April: Tour match v St Kitts and Nevis, Basseterre
1-5 May: 3rd Test v West Indies, Barbados
13-17 April: 1st Test v West Indies, Antigua
“If we don’t win, I can tell you now there will be some enquiries of why we haven’t.â€
West Indies opening batsman Chris Gayle has already ruled himself out of the series, and will instead play for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

This is part of the reason why I dislike England and always want to see them lose. The English always speak as if they are the very best and love to speak lowly of others but when they do rubbish then they try to blame it on a few players. I am only sorry that this team doesn't have the fast bowlers of yesteryear to pepper the English batsmen when they meet.

England need to be a lil careful.
IMO the current English team is nowhere near the strength of the team that was #1 a few years ago.
If Mr Graves had bothered to ask a West Indian he would know that none of the IPL "stars" were likely to be on the test team.
I think it will be a lot closer than many think.

West Indies need to develop a team which consists of players committed to their cause. If any one wants to pick IPL over the team they should not be considered be it Gayle or Sunil. Time to build a team of committed individuals who are assured a fair run as long as they keep improving. I would love to see a strong Windies team. .. all the best coach

Players from other countries are constantly improving.Whereas with WI,you can probably count on your fingers the number of players who are of any quality.Kraig Brathwaite comes to mind and maybe Johnson and Blackwood. With such a bare cupboard, the future does not look bright.
