They sure did make a meal of it! England lost wickets early and often but Taylor and Buttler came together and really showed a lot of determination and fight that has been sorely missing as of late. Of course, in typical England fashion, both gave their wickets away right at the finish line providing for a somewhat nervy finish.

With the kind of form India is displaying,i am sure its going to be a disaster in the WC.From the glimpses they show,it is quite reminiscent of what happened in 2007.
Dhoni made a huge blunder by trusting Jadeja too much.He could have atleast finished the quota of main playes before turning up to jadeja.

I am surprised (and thankful) that Dhoni didn't turn back to Binny towards the end. Not having him bowl his allotted 10 overs seemed like a big mistake to me.

Scrappy victory but I will take it.
Good to see Jos and Taylor do the job.
Must do better though...
Is it just a one game final?

Yes, Mail. Just the one game, winner takes all final. It would be nice to win and go into the WC with some momentum on our side. I have been impressed with Finn so far. Hopefully Broad can start to find his rhythm.

Thanks Dilly!
I might just stay up tonight to catch the first hour.
I agree a win will be good momentum to the WC.
I am not overstating our position, as there are many areas we need to improve on by being consistent, but I have hopes we will get to the semis at least.
Yes Finn is getting better and I am hoping Jordan builds on his good start. He needs to bat well when he gets the opportunity.
How did Jimmy bowl?

Jimmy bowled exceptionally well with the new ball. His last over at the death, on the other hand, was something of a disaster - far too wide and short. It was a nice comeback after his performance against Australia.
It looks as though the selectors prefer Woakes to Jordan. I just took a look at their bowling numbers and was actually surprised to find that they are very evenly matched in terms of average, strike rate and economy rate.
Chris Jordan: Average: 30.09. Economy: 5.70. Strike Rate: 31.6
Chris Woakes: Average: 30.64. Economy: 5.78. Strike Rate: 31.7

Initially I did not have much time for jordan but he has grown on me and I would have him ahead of Woakes!
Jordan has a better allround game in my view.
It is possible, Woakes is faster than Jordan.
Would you agree?
