We, close and far, predominantly far criticise much but the Guyanese loss in the recent final was abysmal.
All I hear from that final is about pelting!
Is that right?
Whether it is or not, in my view the insularity is the sauce? There were no such cries when said incumbent played for the Amazons!
In my personal view, in this forum anyway, Guyanese are up their asses and quite prejudiced and narrow minded!
Thoughts? Ketchim can take a holiday as I suspect you give the rest a bad name!

Is supporting your team really insularity? Are you displaying some insularity here in your views of Guyanese?
Prejudice like Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. That means it is absolute BS too.
Remember when you pointing your finger at anyone, there are 4 pointing at you. So be careful.
It is true that Narine played for Amazon Warriors and he was probably pelting then too. Guyanese fans know this and they accept it.
I do not see anything wrong with stating the fact after the match. For the most part most Guyanese are pissed at their spineless team's performance than at Narine.
Stereotyping is not nice at all.
Peace

What exactly is going on here? Almost every thread there is some conflict with Ketchim and Mail. If I remember correctly you two were almost in agreement some time ago on most things cricket related .... and then later under the bond of Islam you seemed like two peas in a pod ...........So what's going on now ? :-\ ::yawn::

Hey I like the banter, especially the West Indian banter BUT if The Pitch turned into the mire of The Baobao Tree and the posters/alter egos who were introduced there ........ sheesh!! ... time to leave !!

]@Mail .... There is definitely some degree of insularity here, but as I've said before 'don't tar everyone with the same brush'.
Have always stayed away from insularity as it's just not me and it is especially hard to be insular when one has lived away from the region without any real contact for a long time. Everyone gets lumped together (as far as I am concerned) as Windies when one is 'predominantly far' !!
However, one can state their opinion on ANY game whichever way one sees it and wants to call it, despite others choosing to see it as insular whether 'close or far' !!!

Caly,
I sometimes forget you are Guyanese because of your level and dignified deportment!
When you have Narine playing and winning games for the Amazons and nothing is said of his action but make a point of it when he plays elsewhere is a tad unfair to me!
When you choose to stalk Bravo and Pollard because of jealousy rather than facts I have an issue with that!
If Shiv or other Guyanese were part if that action the perspective would be quite different!
Sammy is a scab but when Shiv did the same the masses here say nothing!
I, like you enjoy, the West Indian humour and banter but there is a point it becomes laborious to me....
I simply find any form of prejudice intolerable whether it is against women, ethnicity, creed or whatever.
This is quite different from having a view.
It is reasonable and expected to have loyalty, love and a fighting spirit for your Country but that too can become destructive as is the case here.
Half of Guyana are in Trinidad legally and illegally so this constant Trini envy by a few is unwarranted!
Yes I do not wish to be overzealous about good banter and humour but.....
I will agree disagree on points and you too have asked about the merits of the Indian walk out! You have questioned what other benefits the walk out have achieved and I reminded you of them and that is part of discourse!
Am I happy about the walk out? Not really but it was a necessary evil as had it not happened, cricketers would have continued playing not knowing what their remuneration is!
It was long overdue as the WICB is abjectly incompetent and even a regional PM like Gonsalves is publicly, continuously and categorically stating so.
This continued spotlight on everything Bravo and Pollard is threads and everywhere is quite unhealthy and beyond humour, banter and sense with no cricketing merit.
The constant maligning is obsessive and there is no merit in it!
However your points are duly noted.
