First yellow and red cards are for fouls, time wasting, talking back to de ref. etc
I aint never seen one given for verbal "jousting" between players unless a racial epithet (??) is used. Week in, week out anyone who follows the big leagues will see plenty of verbal spats. Dem is big men, ref have no time to waste treating them like lil kids.
