After winning the opening Test in Adelaide, the Baggy Greens failed to continue their form on a blistering day at the Gabba as the tourists reached stumps on 311-4 in the second Test. Opener Murali Vijay was the star for the Indians, scoring 144 before being caught by Brad Haddin off the bowling of Nathan Lyon, while Ajinkya Rahane finished the day unbeaten at the crease on 75. Bowlers Mitchell Marsh, Josh Hazelwood and Mitchell Starc all received treatment after suffering in the heat and the decision has already been made to take debutant Hazelwood off bowling duties for the rest of the match. Lehmann admits it was tough day for his team in Queensland but is confident they can recover to produce a much stronger performance on Thursday. "It was a hard day in terms of conditions," he said at the close of play. "It is hard to put the ball in right areas when you have so many players pulling up due to cramps or injuries. Obviously the heat affected their skills and it was like a revolving door today. But these are excuses and we are better than that. "It was an eventful day for us. Obviously it would have been nice to have the full contingent on the park after the day's play out there. But it happens in cricket sometimes and hopefully won't happen again. "But also, credit goes to India, they really played well. Hopefully we can back it up tomorrow and start with taking some quick wickets."
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

All in all ... good day for IND .... 311/4 Stumps.
Not such a good day for new Cappo Steve Smith ... bowlers had a hard time with the heat and humidity, plus hamstring injuries ... maybe physio needs to stress more on stretching exercises for the hammie problems.
On to Day 2 ...
