In another attempt to solve the current impasse, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and its limited overs captain Dwayne Bravo, together with their advisors, will meet today at the Hyatt Regency in Trinidad.

The meeting is being facilitated by prime minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonzales. Bravo flew across to St Vincent to meet with Gonzales on Wednesday and it was agreed that the parties would meet at the Hyatt today.

It is unclear whether president of the West Indies Players Association (WIPA), Wavell Hinds will be present since contact with him has proven to be difficult. Bravo did, however, send him a text message. Accompanying Bravo will be Ralph Thorne, the attorney representing the players.

Bravo also indicated to Gonzales that all the senior players have made themselves available for the tour of South Africa starting in December. The meeting will have two items on the agenda. The first will be the resolution of the impasse (centrally the contractual terms and conditions of the players) and secondly the non-discrimination and non-victimisation of the players by the WICB.

The West Indies players aborted their tour of India after talks broke down concerning their payment structure. The players stood to lose about 75 per cent of their revenue.

Gonzales will miss the meeting because of a prior engagement today with the Monetary Council of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU), of which he is currently chairman. Cameron assured Gonzales that there has been no selection of any West Indies team for the South African tour.

Bravo and his teammates are not taking anything for granted and he showed Gonzales a letter which he intends to forward to the International Cricket Council (ICC), calling for their intervention in the matter should it not be solved amicably.

In his letter to all parties, Gonzales called on them to put the interest of West Indies at the core of their deliberations having due regard to all the relevant considerations and circumstances.

This meeting follows one that was held in Jamaica last Sunday at the Pegasus Hotel and included Cameron, Hinds and Thorne, as well as players Andre Russell and Jason Holder.

Some of the players from T&T could not make the meeting because of difficulties with the flight. These players will be represented by Bravo and Thorne.

At the outset, welcome this meeting between WICB & WI players .

Discussion can be the only way forward to resolve such contractual issues.

"Bravo and his teammates are not taking anything for granted and he showed Gonzales a letter which he intends to forward to the International Cricket Council (ICC), calling for their intervention in the matter should it not be solved amicably. "- this sounds a little tricky as definition of amicable can vary.

"Bravo also indicated to Gonzales that all the senior players have made themselves available for the tour of South Africa starting in December. The meeting will have two items on the agenda. The first will be the resolution of the impasse (centrally the contractual terms and conditions of the players) and secondly the non-discrimination and non-victimisation of the players by the WICB."

Good that seniors have made themselves available for SA tour but they should not demand confirmed selection. There are many in the seniors team who are neither good with bat or ball yet been selected continuously for past 2-3 years. Performance should only be the criteria in selecting the captain & team. So WICB for the sake of compromise should not give any such assurance.

Bravo is a Jackass of the highest order as well as Pollard.

They have outdone Sammy for this dubious Title.

There is a 42 Million US dollar Tab for their assinine " walk off" a TOUR...
