To make matters worse for Australia, Brad Haddin hurt his right shoulder and was forced to leave the game in the 96th over. He was replaced behind the stumps by David Warner.

Younis Khan became the third Pakistan batsman to reach 8,000+ Test runs joining Javed Miandad and Inzamam-ul-Haq. Younis reached the 8,000 run mark in the same number of matches as Sobers (93) though required 5 more innings.
