No comparison.
Pybus need to FUND this FRANCHISE style "new system"
He has to PAY for all these MONTHLY FC Retainers in ADDITION to the pool of players.
He and cronies thought the Players would give up their Sponsorship fee for this :
Franchise initiative .
He is sooooooo WRONG ! :-[

Well they don't get paid more because of the popularity of the sport worldwide but there are some cricket players that do really well for themselves.

I cannot recognise this idiocy of dragging Pybus as the main person in each strategic debate.
Yes he proposes but not responsible for funding and yes he will have a big part in proposing strategic cricketing change like the Captaincy, Coach, chair of selectors, franchise system, grassroots etc.
There is a chain of command and I assume he reports to Muirhead, who with the CFO are responsible for funding issues.
Those resistant to change and satisfied that talented cricketers should sit on the sidelines whilst Guyana and LIs fail miserably, the franchise system is not for them neither would any innovation.
The fact that only two players were traded is no surprise for year 1 but the teams who should have traded most should have been Guyana and especially LIs! that is not down to the concept and strategy rather the respective administrations.
The concept is there and year 2 will take on a different shape where I believe it is a free trade.
If you feel The idea of professionalising the West indian set up is futile then by all means blame Pybus. His role is to generate the ideas and modes of implementation not the actual funding. The CEO and CFO have to earn their keep as executive directors which I do not think Pybus is.
It seems some think Pybus' controls everything WICB.
How ignorant and backward looking.
I also think the ECB Central contract is £700k with the Captain earning £1.2m including his captaincy fee of £300k. Match fees, bonuses are additional plus their individual sponsorship.
Now that is good earning but knowing the taxation system, cost of living, including housing, it is ok compared to some footballers who earn upwards of £300k per week!
You cannot set earnings for West Indies, or anywhere else for that matter, based on say England as the money associated with the game is different in England.
So £110k per annum for a centrally contracted West Indian player plus fees etc is good for their cost of living. Some will also have their private sponsorship and commercial interests.
The administrators need to trade the WICB brand for what it is worth and get fans back through the turnstiles creating a vibrant match day environment and if that means playing in Guyana, Jamaica, Bim and Trinbago with the occasional match in the islands then so be it. Sponsors are not too keen on empty stadia but I appreciate TV coverage suffices their very short term needs.
No one said it would be economically viable constructing all these stadia that will never pay back.
Cut your cloth accordingly.
