* No one can argue with Charlie Davis' overall average of 54.15 in 15 tests.

* But one can argue that he averaged 16 in 3 tests versus Australia and 34 in 3 tests vs England.

* His overall average was puffed up by his 132 average in 4 tests vs India.

* You commented about Davis' superior overall average.

* I indicated to you using stats that his overall numbers were puffed up by his superior series against India.

* Of course, that doesn't take away from the fact that his overall average was 54.

* Charlie Davis was good against spinners; he struggled against pace.
