England has won the 5th ODI against India by 41 runs. Jadeja put up a fight for India with an 87, and it almost seemed like things were going to be interesting, but by the 49th over, India were all out for 253. Man of the Match was awarded to Joe Root, while Suresh Rain bagged the Man of the series award.
Final Scores
England 294/7 in 50 overs
India 253 in 48.4 overs

If it wasn't for the solid innings by Jaddu, we would have lost by more runs, but he made it a less painful loss. I wish they could have clean sweeped for the first time around.

I too wished they made a clean sweep of them, but it was all spoilt by Root who made a great ton.Now this doesn't prove England are a top ranked team at all. They have always been following a flawed approach to world cups and to ODI's.They will suffer for this.

James Taylor scored another century today for Notts in the Royal London Cup semi-final against Durham. I really hope that he gets a look-in during the upcoming tour to Sri Lanka.

Taylor deserves a call up. And FFS stick with your players for a while - just don't randomly pick players and kick em out as you wish.

While I certainly agree with your sentiment, England have seemingly stuck with many of their longstanding batsman for too long. Cook, Bell, Morgan have been the foundation of the ODI team despite their continuing poor ODI form.

I am afraid they don't have many option when it comes to One Day batsman, so they are going to stick with the team for a while.
