The captain is going up to players telling them they are not in the team and they must be looking back wondering 'how are you still in it?', writes Michael Vaughan
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

Cook is not going to walk - and he isn't going to be sacked. England would rather blindly stumble from one humiliation to another rather than admit they are wrong. The brave new era is a load of codswallop without actually employing brave new tactics and approach

[color=rgb(51, 51, 51)]If you see other teams & England players you can see what the priorities for the English are. Micheal Clarke played 105 tests & around 240 ODIs, Dhoni 85 tests & around 250 ODIs, Alistair Cook 100 odd tests + 80 odd ODIs. No other cricket team has a 100 tests veteran playing lesser number of ODIs.

That article makes for some pretty grim reading, especially the numbers on Cook's recent one day form. The article notes that Cook has failed to reach 80 in an ODI in his last 38 innings, spanning 26 months. During this time, Cook has averaged 32.0, that's not good enough for an opening batsman that scores as slowly as he does.

Well, they're stuck with him till world cup IMO. There's no way you can just discard him now and hope for a miracle. Just hope that he plays decently and holds the team together okay.

England is still playing the one day cricket the old-fashioned way, bu they need to see the changes and adapt. If they keep playing like this they are going to lose one match after another.

Vaughn is really laying into Cook here. I think there is no way that England will make a change so late into their world cup preparation..they will stick with what they have invested in. I wish they had the same attitude with KP too as he was one player who could have inspired a turn around.

Now Cook has rediscovered some level of form, I think maybe giving him until after the World Cup would be fair, but at the same time something does seem stale within the England camp.
