The pitch at Manchester is believed to have the maximum bounce and carry for the fast bowlers. Should India consider playing Varun Aaron who is easily Indias fastest bowler, although he can be a bit wayward?

It won't help them for long.I mean the pitch will crack sooner or later, and aid the spinners. With this in mind,Dhoni would be looking to play 2 fast bowlers and 2 spinners or 1 spinner and 1 all rounder.
In any case Aaron will get a look in because with Ishant out and Bhuvi's looming fitness failure,he is the only other choice left.
He can surely be an asset..!!

Ravichandran Ashwin shold have played from teh go.
Almost 6 wickets per test match, better than the greats, and a batting average of 40.
Jadeja is potentially a 'good' test player. His bowling is not yet good enough and he bats T20 style.
Ashwin could have made the difference.
We are happy your selectors have omitted him.

I agree. I don't think Jadeja is a Test bowler. He is certainly not a front-line spinner. Though you could say the same about Moeen.
From England's stand point, given the pace of the wicket, it will be interesting to see if Finn replaces either Woakes or Jordan. Neither impressed at Southampton with the ball. Jordan was far too wayward with his line. With Finn's height and pace I would be very tempted to add him to the attack, especially the way that Kholi and Pujara have struggled with playing the short ball this series.

Inter alia
Unfair comparison.
Moeen does more with the ball and have applied himself more with the bat.
Moeen has shown situational awareness and improvement, especially with his bowling.
That cannot be said for the Indian Saint.

Why on earth would you want to play Aaron? He's completely untested and a bit of extra pace is really not gonna make much difference. Might as well gotten Yadav in IMO.

Also agree with Mailstah. It's nuts not to play Ashwin. The guy at the very least contributes with the bat. Why all the Jadeja love when you can get the same and more from Ashwin?
I don't rate his bowling all that much, but his batting is pretty darn solid unlike Jadeja. He's got sounder technique and has batted better under pressure.
