VIRAT KOHLI: Struggling Versus England

Kohli scored 0, 7 at Old Trafford bringing his tally up to 108 runs in the series to date for an average of 13.5. His run of eight innings without a fifty since his unbeaten hundred against New Zealand in Wellington is the worst run in his 28-Test career. He is going to need to come up big if India are going to rescue the series against England at The Oval.

Kohli finished the series with another disappointing score, out for 20. 134 runs scored in 10 innings for an average of 13.4. His 134 runs are the second-lowest aggregate by a top-four batsman having played at least 10 innings.

Horror series for Kohli. Sure, you'd expect a batsman to  have lean patches. But for a seriously talented guy who makes a mockery out of the best of bowlers - this is jaw droppingly horrendous.

Yesterday he pretty much tried to overcompensate for his weakness outside offstump and played way too cross batted. Really worrying.

As if Kohli wasn't having a tough enough things of it, Hashim Amla broke his record of least number of innings to reach 15 ODI centuries. Kohli previously held the record with 106. Hashim Amla eclipsed Kohli's record today as he notched his 15th ODI century against Zimbabwe in only his 86th innings.

No doubt Anderson is a great bowler. But it seems the Indian side has always had a poor batting team. They've had great batsmen, but they never had a great batting team. Virat maybe a great batsman, but a great batsmen should be able to handle an unfriendly pitch or a great bowler. At least there should be support from the rest of the team to boost morale, but as you all know except for Dhoni the rest just gave up. Well, Dhoni is a greats cricketer.

Virat is having a bad series against England. I hope that he can bounce back against all opposition except for the West Indies. Even average bowlers like Chris Jordan is getting him out. When it rains it pours and the entire India team is feeling it.
