OK Folks!
* It has now become a horse race.
*
3 batsmen are currently vying to surpass Brian Lara(11,953) as the 5th highest scorer in test cricket.
* THESE ARE THE NUMBERS
11,953---Brian Lara(5)
11,392---Mahela Jayawardene(6)
11,359---Kumara Sangakkara(7)
11,327---Shiv Chanderpaul(8 )
* Jayawardene needs 562 runs to surpass Lara; Sangakkara needs 595; Shiv needs 627

QUESTION:
*
Which batsman will win the race to surpass Lara ?

* Kumar is a facting runs machine.
* He just scored 208 runs at Lords(147 & 61)
* At this rate Kumar will overtake Lara by the end of the English tour. ;D
* If not, he'll definitely overtake Lara during the series against Pakistan.
* Shiv will eventually crawl his way to 11,954 and hopefully 2000 more than that. ;D
* But you're right---Kumar will likely win the horse race.

Shiv better walk faster towards the runs! He got two things against him:
1. The WICB and haters do not want him to over take that total. They will use any excuse to drop him and batting slow can be one of those excuses.
2. age...mother nature can be cruel as one gets older!

Googs:
* Have you seen Shiv bat recently ?
* Does he look like he is slowing down ?
* ABSOLUTELY NOT!
* Actually, take a look at Shiv's scoring rate in the Jamaica test----84* in 138 balls---that's a strike rate of 60.87. He also scored 24 in 35 balls---a strike rate of 68.
*
Right now Shiv is waaaaay better than any other West Indian batsman----and if he plays for another 5 years he'll still be the best West Indian batsman.
ONE LAST THING:
* Shiv's test goal is not 11,953----he has his eyes set on 15,921. ;D hahahaha
* Click on the link if you don't recognize 15,921:

* Shiv is now playing in his 155th test.
* The probability favors him playing more tests than Ponting(168), Kallis(166), and Dravid(164).
* Shiv has 1 more vs NZ; 2 vs Bang; 3 vs SA; 3 vs England----that's 155 + 9 = 164
* Hopefully Shiv will join Tendy on 200. ;D hahahahaha

Gets a bit more interesting for Innings played :
Ponting 287 , Dravid 286 , Kallis 280
Shiv is at 263 .
the 18 Innings from : NZ (2) , Bangla (4) and SA (6) and Eng (6) will bring him to 281
Tendy has 329 :-[

trust me Rev..that surely won't happen...
No not because i don't like chanders,but sadly everyone has to bend before the law of averages,if someone is performing so well,they ought to have a slump sometime or the other,as seen in all those batsmen playing international matches.So when this period comes across,shiv will most likely be dropped for a slump in form..!!
I <3 shiv ...but sadly,none in this era can go across that line.There is the BCCI that watches every player who can get to that line,and they won't let them do so if they try...Sick people..!!
