It is rather unfortunate that the wicb could not accommodate Mr narine in the position he has found himself. He had agreed to join the training camp on the first oj June, however, his team through his efforts has reached the finals which would take place on June 1st. I think that some flexibility could have been used by the board to allow Mr.narine the extra time which is about two days late to join the camp. The New Zealanders were coming here knowing that narine would be their nemisis, afterall, he has his best efforts in test cricket against them. If wi cricket is to get back to the top, we must do so with the best players available.

Haha, I like your analogy - not perfect, but sufficiently explains the situation.
Narine is NOT to be blamed for this. WICB could easily have settled this without any issues. They chose not to. Now everyone's gonna blame Narine in some sort of misguided nationalstic fervor.

I believe the NOC lasted to 30th May so from that view point Narine is in breach of his agreement but on the other hand, cash strapped WICB earn from contracted players in the IPL so it is arguable they perversely wanted him to stay in the IPL to maximise their earnings.
So Narine might be breach but a little common sense should have prevailed as 'setting an example' of Barine will make no difference whatsoever.
Had it been Gayle in that final, it would have been interesting to see the fall out of his 'ban'...

WICB was silly to not consider him for selection.selection. Narine was an integral part to kolkatta's efforts in reaching the final. He can't just desert the team to which he had committed to playing. Also WICB knew that the final was on June 1st,they could have at least extended it to june 2nd.Anyways,its all about money and narine would be happy as long as he gets them.
