Sport is part art form, and Kallis was never particularly beautiful to watch.

Personally, I have to agree - with all due respect to the legend.
Not only that, he's not always match conscious. I wouldn't go so far to call him "selfish" - but there were times where his slow batting costed times. The test vs England springs to mind - where he made a painfully slow fifty when the team demanded an aggressive innings before declaration.

Even his last ton was a bit too slow, and Robbie P had to slog and put on some quick runs to make up, thankfully.

How does Kallis become the greatest even without a world cup under his belt? This opinion should go unnoticed.

I could be mistaken but I do not think Lara had a World Cup under his belt but I am subject to correction.

Kallis has certainly left his mark on the game.


We all have our opinions and my view is not based in emotions but what I have witnessed and heard many fans and commentators attest.


For me Kanhai was the greatest West Indian batsman I have seen and one of the greatest ever. This is the name you will be given by any English supporter of a certain age who not only saw him in Internationals but for Warwickshire.


He was the first of a kind, innovative, destructive, seamless in what he did, elegant, cool and one of the greatest innings I had seen of him was at Sabina Park 1971 scoring 158 to save the test.


He averaged 47-48 and in his 80 or so tests could have scored many more centuries but he was the first Master Blaster I saw.
