Easyrider:
* Lemme challenge you on your assertion above---that Shiv has benefitted from poor opponents and is not fearing well against better bowling.
* It is true that in his last 10 tests ---(from July 2012 to Dec 2013) Shiv has faced Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and New Zealand in 8 of those 10 tests and he averaged 71.54 in his last 10 tests.
* But let's take a look at the 3 opponents Shiv faced prior to NZ/Bang/Zim----those 3 opponents were England, Australia and India---and Shiv played in 7 tests(between Nov 2011 and May 2012) against Eng/Aus/India.
* In those 7 tests against England, Australia and India these were Shiv's scores:
* 118, 47, 4, 47(vs India); 103* 12, 94, 68, 69(vs Australia); 87*, 91, 46, 11(vs England)
* ADD all that up and you get 797 runs in 7 tests against Ind/Aus/Eng at an average of 72.45
* So Shiv has averaged 71.54 in his last 10 tests against India, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and New Zealand.
* But he averaged 72.45 in 7 tests prior to the last 10 against India, Australia and England.

CONCLUSION:
Did you say easyrider that Shiv has benefited from poor opponents and poor bowling ? Really ? Did you see those scores and averages above against England and Australia ? By the way easy rider---do you know that since Lara retired at the end of 2006---Shiv has played in 51 tests ---he has scored 4341 runs at an average of 67.82 with 14 hundreds and 22 fifties---and he has the highest average of any batsman the past 7 years ?
Like the Rev said to you easyrider---you are entitled to your opinion and your negativity.
