* Shiv scored 77 runs in the last test---76 & 1

* Shiv now has 11,040 runs

* Shiv needs 914 runs to become the highest runs scorer in WI history(11,954 - 11,040 = 914)


MATH QUESTION:

If Shiv continues scoring at 77 runs per test---in how many tests from hereon will Shiv surpass Lara's 11,953 ?

Let's revisit the goals Shiv set before the start of the series against NZ



AFTER 2 TESTS:

* Shiv is now up to 11,077 runs---he needs 98 runs in the 3rd test to surpass Alan Border(11,174) and become the 6th highest run scorer in tests.

* Shiv has 1 not out in the series thus far---he is now up to 44---same as Border---he needs 2 not outs to share the NOT OUT record with SWaugh.

* Shiv has scored one fifty in the series---he joins Alan Border----both have 90 scores over fifty---Shiv needs one more fifty to surpass Border.

* Shiv now has 895 runs against NZ----he needs 156 runs to surpass Gayle who has scored 1050 runs against NZ.

* Shiv still needs 2 hundreds to become the 11th batsman in history to score 30 test hundreds----Shiv has been struggling in NZ----it doesn't look like he can score a hundred in this series----although he did look like a hundred when he scored that 76 in the first test.

* Maybe Shiv will surprise us all next week and score his 29th test hundred.

* Shiv will be playing in his 18th test against #8 ranked New Zealand.

* Shiv has only scored 1 test hundred in his 17 tests against NZ.

* And his average against bottom ranked NZ is a very ordinary 40.68

* Hopefully Shiv gets back in touch with his offstump---he has been struggling with the line---we saw him get bowled by Ashwin for 36 in India----then he was LBW for 76 in the first test against NZ----leaving alone---Shiv needs to find his offstump again.

In his long and illustrious career Shiv has played in 25 3rd match in a test series---he has averaged 55.31 in 3rd matches---with 5 hundreds and 17 fifties.

* Shiv will be playing his 26th 3rd match in a series this week.

* Of course Shiv has been severely challenged by lowly New Zealand in his career.

* So expectations ought to be too high for Shiv's loyal supporters.

* But a second hundred against NZ would be nice. ;D
