The WICB may need the BCCI to do something with their officers being representative!

Since South Africa's reintroduction to international cricket in 1991,

only five black African players have made it to the Test level :

even though the group forms 80% of South Africa's population.

In the West Indies it is different .

Indos comprise about 20 % of the population 

I hope that one day the situation will arise when there would be a quota for white players on the South African team instead

Makhaya Ntini is the only one who has played more than 100 Tests :

Mfuneko Ngam, Thami Tsolekile, Monde Zondeki and  Tsotsobe have only 17 TEST matches in all.

In contrast, 11 mixed-race players, including Hashim Amla and Imran Tahir,

have made it to the South African side.

England and America reserve places for the minorities by affirmative action but South Africa is the only country that has to  reserve places for the majority in cricket

I would say hoping the situation reverses is equally ignorant. However I expect that from the Lone Danger!

I think we need ask ourselves if blacks South Africans are interested in cricket and whether there is an infrastructure in place to nurture young talent. In the absence of that affirmative action is not really that.

It also strikes me of how biased the administration of West Indies cricket is, so it is a timely reminder to get your house in order. It would be interesting to hear views on this.

It is about redressing the balance and not creating an imbalanced system like you have created in the West Indies administration.

I wonder if they will a quota system for Chess, Golf and Lawn tennis?
