New no-ball rule comes into effect, says ICC

That's a good change. It was ridiculous to call "dead ball" when a bowler broke the wicket in his delivery stride because sometimes the batsman was penalised.


I don't understand change number 2. Why would they change the rules regarding batting with a runner if batsmen are no longer allowed runners?

Nope. If you read the changes in the grey square, it clearly states: "No runners in international cricket". So maybe this new rule applies to domestic cricket.

No I'm not, though a career counsellor once told me to study law. Aside from the fact that I would never feel comfortable trying to help someone get away with a crime they were guilty of, I wouldn't have the confidence to argue their case in a court either. It's easy to say what I believe online, in real life not so much.

I looked for this because I was sure I hadn't seen any runners in test cricket lately.
