Have you seen what is taking place in Guyana? And in Linden?
And they are about to let some dubious Chinese company build a dam in the interior ostensibly to provide electric power.
I shudder to think what environmental chaos gold mining is creating.
All very sad.

are you for real my friend? . Are you also as adamant when the Northern hemispheric countries degrade their environment for mining , forestry minerals and oil as in the tar sands ?
We guyanese dont need no outsiders to tell us how to exploit our resources
Why should Guyana be any different ,

Yes I am as adamant when "northern hemispheric countries" degrade their environment etc.
Guyana can't even clean up the trash in their own country.
Have you seen Georgetown lately - crass buildings going up everywhere. No wonder Georgetown gets a little rain and everywhere floods. Guyana has not maintained the pristine drainage system left by the Dutch.

Isn't 63 beach (if you can call it a beach) on the corentyne?
The Georgetown city council may be at loggerheads with the government but what has the government done to remedy the situation? The only folks suffering are the inhabitants of Georgetown.
