serious question.....do you think that you should?
i never took rents from either of my kids.....even after they got married and moved back in with us in order to save for house.
which they both did.....saved, bought house and doing quite well
but i have always wondered if maybe i should have taken room&board from them to teach them some kinda lesson.......but if i did i would have given it back to them in the end anyway.

yes i have been at this current place for 2years and 6months - time flies eh? lol
no more working from home, but i dont mind - the company has flex hours so i am greatful for that. plus i get to do project management which i wanted to do for so long.
for the first couple of months it would be in Markham and then I switch to Mississauaga

well we dont have an 'structured' form of payment here. my money is my parents and their money is mine - we operate like that. we live under one roof and what has to be paid when - gets paid.
we all have to pitch in and help
i just remember always that my parents gave me everything growing up and when i was out of a job for 6 months - they covered my expenses...so i cannot really take a formal stance and say this is the only money you will get from me.

'white' folks are very different from us Indos in this particular situation
as soon as their kids start to work they have to pay for their complete upkeep or move out
i hear my co-worker all the time telling her son and daughter (who still live at home) that they owes her for gas, or their portion of grocery and utilities or if she picks up any sale items for them (clothes, shoes, etc) how much he has to pay for it.
the daughter is 32 and the son is 21.
