The Youtube logo does give credit to the source but as you probably know ...... not crediting the source by way of traffic is also a form of plagiarism.

Anyhow I am not sure how it works if a site is embedded though I do recall Ryan saying something similar on here sometime ago re Youtube.

Agree re the convenience .... just wish it didn't slow up the thread like it does.  Really not a big deal for me as I infrequently visit The Tree ... but thought I would mention it re the 'latency' problem.

i really dont know what 'latency' problems exist sometimes - my computer is fine.

if Youtube embedding is 'plagarism', why does Youtube allow it?

... but obviously other posters including myself do get these 'latency' problems and I have no idea why that is, just merely making suggestions to alleviate the problem ...

Regarding embedding ... as said in my post above ... not sure how that particular feature works .... perhaps someone in the know can comment
