I'm good Nargis.
Well, when it comes to my grandkids, I would do over and over and over again. I have so far no problems with my kids being ungrateful and if i ever feel slighted, i make no bones about letting them know. like once, i was at a gathering, my son came in and did the rounds and came to kiss me last. i smiled but let him have it when I next saw him. he felt i was behaving like a brat but i did not care.
i'm very jealous where my children are concerned ... one of my faults ..

i agree with you -
my mom is very harsh with me and my brothers and makes no bones to tell us off when she feels we are being ungrateful.
guilt washes us and we always have to apologize and beg for forgiveness....to see her hurt is enough to make us melt with shame.

earlier this year when my daughter visited, i felt she spent more time with her friends than with me. i let her know in no uncertain terms and we both ended up in tears. but at least she knows what i will take and what i will not ....
