that may not be quite true.
ancient African philosophy did not see death ads an end. they did not see a beginning or end to life period. nature was their template not abstract philosophy. they did not believe in a soul that survives after death but a spirit that we all had..all life.
they saw transformation as the way of nature. snake was a sign of transformation and reincarnation. the snake changes its skin all the time reinventing itself
they saw birth and death as a natural thing, the way life is. they had no problem with the natural way of life they were born into, identified with fully.
the white man is the one who corrupted African philosophy and inserted his own fear of death into religious product they created and imposed it on everyone

this is the best I can find at the moment. this writer is Nigerian but he writes like a white person. he is referring to African philosophical ideas and practices with the English pejorative witchcraft

By Gerald Onyewuchi Onukwugha

I cant say that I like and appreciate this authors orientation and language. again it is too white, and negative. but he he is erudite and capable and appears to be worthy of a read

Hindus believe in ReIncarnation
so why fear death WHEN you know : "I'll be back " ?
