I missed you! Sad to hear about your loss and the rather painful experience you are enduring. Such is the pangs of separation. However, with faith and time, you will persevere. In the end, so does everyone.
I hope that you would have fetched back a bundle of wonderful experiences in meeting your relatives and friends, and that you will fondly recollect their presence as you remember your journey to Guyana. Stay well, and when you are ready tell us some of your salt and pepper stories.

Thanks my friend.
My trip was so bitter-sweet.
sweet - first time back in almost 10 years
bitter - the reason for the trip overshadowed the sweet.
my very large family is a great blessing in times like this
we take comfort from each other
and my Faith is strong and i know and accept that death is a part of life.
but it still hurts....a lot.
and i also know that time will heal

Skittles...I find it strange that every second, people are dying the world over...however only when it is someone we know, or someone famous or notable, only then do we stop to take stock of their demise and reflect on their life and import. It is strange, this human emotion and how it affects our reaction to the loss of people in our lives..

I try to imagine what if the person was still here? How would i think of them? And then I remind myself that it is only because I can't say or do the things I do for them and hence I miss them. Therefore I grieve. So from a practical standpoint it is a very raw, selfish emotion. And so because it is born out of selfishness, we suffer the self.
