NEW YORK (AP) — Bill Cosby's upcoming appearance on CBS' "Late Show with David Letterman" has been canceled amid a growing uproar over allegations that he sexually assaulted several women in past decades.
Cosby spokesman David Brokaw confirmed Friday night that Cosby would not appear next Wednesday as previously scheduled. He did not say why.
"Late Show" representative Kimberly Izzo-Emmet said, "We can't comment on the guest booking process." She said Regis Philbin would be the replacement guest.
Another canceled engagement, on "The Queen Latifah Show" on Oct. 30, was characterized by that show as a postponement granted at Cosby's request.
Barbara Bowman, one of Cosby's accusers, has recently leveled allegations of sexual assault by the comic in interviews and in a Washington Post online column, writing that "Cosby won my trust as a 17-year-old aspiring actress in 1985, brainwashed me into viewing him as a father figure, and then assaulted me multiple times."
The standup comedian Hannibal Buress last month brought heat on Cosby at a performance in Philadelphia. His routine, during which he assailed Cosby as "a rapist," was captured on video and posted online, gaining wide exposure.
The 77-year-old Cosby, who was never criminally charged in any of the cases, settled a civil suit in 2006 with another woman over an alleged incident two years before.
Cosby has declined to comment on the recent resurgence of allegations.

Unfortunately, I can't say I feel sorry for Bill Cosby. I have little respect for the man. I remember during my teen years, Cosby had this sudden rage against African Americans who were not in the middle/upper class demographic in America. He made millions touring around America lambasting all African Americans who lived in ghettos throughout the country. I'm an African American woman who grew up in the ghetto and I nor my family represented the stereotypes he perpetuated in television interviews and etc. My friends grew up in ghettos too and I never witness a shooting or anything remotely similar to whatever people saw in Boyz In Da Hood. Oh well. It's always those preaching the loudest with the most to hide.

This is how they treat black superstars in America . When they done using you they release you back in the plantation or they kill you . These charges were never an issue when the Cos was making billions for CBS and other entities but now that he has no power they are making sure that he reverts back to a Negga rapist .
Numerous eg. Michael Jackson . Whitney Houston , James Brown .. many athletes

the day they arrest and charge Bill Cosby for rape, try him and prove clearly, obviously that he is guilty of rape I will believe...then and only then.
it was and is the same thing with Michael Jackson. Now that Jackson is dead the news whether he was a pedophile should come out easily. it has not so far. and I doubt there is any such proof
but Cosby is like Michael was, a very rich Black man who is a target under any circumstance for attack.
that Cosby settled a suit out of court is no sooprise. that happens often with people with money who prefer to settle silly suits rather than the public cost of a trial. some celebs prefer to do that.
but 14 women reported rape - 14!!!!
and out of all of that they could not put together a case that could be prosecuted in a court of law ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused::
interesting!

why they waited so long to come forward
is it because it is not true and it's the 14 he probably stopped giving hand out to
and now they come forward after the statute of limitations ran out and would like for him to make a large payout to them
