A troubled Staten Island teen died Wednesday after hurling herself in front of a train while horrified classmates watched, sources and witnesses said.
Felicia Garcia, 15, jumped as the train arrived at the Huguenot station about 3:10 p.m., witnesses and sources said. The platform was packed with nearly 200 students, witnesses said.
The Tottenville High School freshman had been visibly anxious moments before the fatal leap, witnesses said.
“She didn’t seem herself. She was really off,†said a 15-year-old friend of Felicia’s who asked that her name not be used. “She asked me what time it was every two minutes. She was pacing back and forth, eager for the train to come.â€
Felicia’s last tweet on Twitter, posted Monday, alluded to her distressed state of mind.
“I cant, im done, I give up,†the teen wrote.
