Well here goes
After I  finished high school , the New  Amsterdam Technical institute opened .
It was built and equipped by the Canadian Govt and it was comparable to any North  American community college . The lecturers  were supplied  by the Canadian  govt  for the  first four years and you worked to achieve a n English certification (city and guilds ) a two year course but there was a catch , an unwritten rule that you must be a card carrying member of the PNC  to gain admission in spite of the fact that there was an admission entrance test
Any way I along with a younger brother decided to take the test , Now this brother was not the brightest and was not  in any way academically inclined as he dropped out of high school and so I applied for an agriculture mechanic course and he applied for masonry and bricklaying as he figured that dem Pnc supporters would  not apply for this course since it means that they would have to get their hands  dirty and  the chances of him getting in would be greater .
Now on the day of the Exam , we both sat on the same table and recieved the test paper which has to be done in a one hour time limit.
I wrote his name on the test and I told him to do nothing , within 15 minutes I completed the test and we exchanged test papers and I completed mine and we both finished in Half hour and  was the first to leave the  room
Ther was no expectation of admittance inspite of the fact that I knew that all my answers to the test was one hundred percent correct.
Lo  and behold  the results came in and we were both accepted but then another controversy arose in the village , They were saying that yes Kwams was accepted on merit but his brother was PNC  and ther aint no way in hell that he  can pass the test. He is a comedian and he had a field day rubbing it in using Quotes  like " never judging  a book by the cover"  etc.
Come now the time to register and we did not realised that we each needed a passport photograph
Since I had just finished writing My GCE  I had a few  lying around , him however had none but I remember his words that day " Kwams all colley people look alike to dem blackman" and with that he grabbed one of my photograph an as easy as Sunday morning he was right .
We both registered using my picture and whereas I obtained a City and guild from london , He partied for Two  years and the Irony was that  he got a job  in his field whereas I could not find work since I did not have any Pnc connections
